Before i even start off, "Breath-taking". This is a beach located in some north corner of the Penang Island, i was here in Penang for my cousins wedding when i purposefully hunt down this place to have a blasting great dinner with all my relatives... Superb place, if ur a fan of seafood - this is ur heaven... taste so good!! that u need not burn ur pockets.
This restaurant with its quiet and pleasant location also has a good picturesque sunset view off Gertak Sanggul. The dinning area of the restaurant is extended right on the beach. A stroll down the beach was very relaxing while waiting for the food.A beautiful beach side, come around 530-700 pm, and enjoy ur dinner with the sunset, too bad when i arrived the sun is already down hahaha... Aint that easy to lacte this area actually, U might need ur GPS.
Its an open air restaurant, coolen by the breeze at night blowing from the sea, with the nice sound of the sea water hitting the shores. Hawker stall style table setting, nothing fancy, Plastic chairs and tables - nicely above ur sandy floor.
We ordered several seafood dishes, starting off with Satay (not ur regular satay as u can see)
Crabs - freshly grilled with with garlic and Fried butter style
Fishes - Steamed with a nice broth and friend with some sweet sauce
Crustaceans - Oysters, clams, lala, Lo-Kang, etc
Prawns - Butter prawns, char grilled etc
And it was nicely complimented with a nice cold glass of beer. The Satay here is grilled with the sauce already on, but its not just the peanut sauce we usually dips in. Some how the dish ends up to be little spicy with some tinge of sweetness, its just Fantastic. Its cost about 80 cents per stick, i guess its reasonable, good portion and size with a fantastic taste, aint those "retarded ones from Pasar Malam" hahaha.
I truly enjoyed the dinner. Get the telephone number to make a reservation at this seaside restaurant especially on the weekend and public holidays.
